এক নজরে বেগম ফায়জুন্নেসা মহিলা ডিগ্রী কলেজ
“আদর্শ নারী শিক্ষা উন্নত জাতি গঠনের পূর্বশর্ত” – এই স্লোগানের মাধ্যমে বেগম ফয়জুন্নেসা মহিলা ডিগ্রি কলেজ নারী শিক্ষার মাধ্যমে সমাজ ও জাতির উন্নয়নে অঙ্গীকারবদ্ধ। বরগুনা জেলার বামনা উপজেলার কালাগাসিয়া গ্রামে ১৮ মার্চ ১৯৯৬ সালে প্রতিষ্ঠিত এই কলেজটি বেগম ফয়জুন্নেসা খাতুন জাহিদী কুরাইশীর নামে নামকরণ করা হয়। তিনি ছিলেন খান বাহাদুর আব্দুল মোমিনের একমাত্র কন্যা এবং বামনার প্রাক্তন জমিদার খান সাহিব সৈয়দ নাজমুল আহসানের স্ত্রী। অল্পদিনেই প্রতিষ্ঠানটি নারী শিক্ষার প্রসারে একটি উজ্জ্বল দৃষ্টান্ত স্থাপন করেছে।
কলেজটির প্রতিষ্ঠায় অগ্রণী ভূমিকা পালন করেন সৈয়দ রহমতুর রব ইরতিজা আহসান, সৈয়দ ফয়জুল মোমেন সারওয়ার আহসান, সৈয়দ রশিদ রেজা আহসান এবং সৈয়দ মঞ্জুরুর রব মুর্তজা আহসান। তাঁদের দূরদর্শী উদ্যোগে ২ একর জমির উপর নির্মিত এই সুসজ্জিত ক্যাম্পাস জাতীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এবং উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক শিক্ষা বোর্ডের অধীনে বিজ্ঞান, মানবিক এবং ব্যবসায় শিক্ষা বিভাগে গুণগত শিক্ষা প্রদান করে আসছে। এই কলেজ শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে জ্ঞান, নৈতিকতা এবং নেতৃত্বের গুণাবলী গড়ে তুলে আদর্শ নারী শিক্ষার প্রতীক হিসেবে প্রতিষ্ঠিত।
বেগম ফয়জুন্নেসা মহিলা ডিগ্রি কলেজ তার আদর্শ জাতি গঠনের চেতনায় নারী শিক্ষার উন্নয়নের লক্ষ্যে কাজ করে চলেছে। প্রতিষ্ঠার পর থেকে এই কলেজের শিক্ষার্থীরা দেশের নানান ক্ষেত্রে সফলতার সাথে নিজেদের অবদান রেখে চলেছে। এই কলেজ শুধুমাত্র শিক্ষার মান বজায় রাখেনি, বরং নিরাপদ নারী শিক্ষার মাধ্যমে বামনা অঞ্চলের সামাজিক ও অর্থনৈতিক উন্নয়নে গৌরবময় অবদান রেখে চলেছে।
